About Me
I have been working in the technology industry for about 25 years and have been fortunate to face all kinds of interesting challenges. My specialties are automation and systems integration. I love to build cohesive systems from components that were never supposed to work together, and to automate difficult business processes.
I have worked with every major operating system, including Windows, Linux, FreeBSD, z/OS, AS/400, and Tandem NonStop. I’ve managed VMware shops, OpenStack shops, Google Cloud, AWS Cloud, and others. I’ve moved or consolidated so many datacenters I’ve lost count (at least 20).
These days, I work as a consultant and mentor for technology leaders to help them align their technology portfolios with their business needs. This usually includes defining an architecture strategy, and developing the right vendor partnerships to achieve it. My broad experience allows me to advocate for my customers against vendors who try to sell what isn’t needed.
After all these years, the work I enjoy most is solving difficult technical challenges. I especially like automation, orchestration, and systems integration work. In a field that has become disturbingly homogeneous, my experience enables me to design unique solutions that cater to a company’s existing technologies and staff skills.
Let’s talk about how I can help your business today.
